Sustainable and resilient value added chains

Subproject 5

The focus is on investigating the technologies previously optimized along the ammonia value added chain with regard to their resilience and economic and ecological sustainability. The aim is to evaluate the potential for successful long-term implementation on an industrial scale in the identified areas of application.

Divided into four sections, a modeling and evaluation of all investigated technologies and process routes takes place. On this basis, sustainable business models will be identified and recommendations for the further development of decentralized ammonia utilization concepts will be derived.

The first work package includes modelling, simulation and optimization of the individual sub-processes. On this basis, the life cycle assessment is carried out in a further work package. Work packages three and four include the techno-economic analysis followed by the development of the business models. Accompanying socio-economic and techno-economic research supports the path to industrial application. Complex tasks are further developed into ready-to-use system solutions by means of feasibility studies and technology analyses.
